AWS Software Engineer

Nottingham | Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office
£50,000 - £85,000

We’re looking for a hands-on AWS Cloud Engineer to join an engineering team building cloud-native applications and internal platforms.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys writing clean code, automating infrastructure and building production-grade software on AWS. You’ll work across serverless, event-driven architectures, infrastructure as code and CI/CD, taking ownership of your work from design and development through to deployment and monitoring.

What you’ll be doing

  • Design, build and maintain serverless applications using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SQS and SNS
  • Develop clean, maintainable and well-tested TypeScript / Node.js services
  • Build RESTful and event-driven APIs across microservices and distributed workloads
  • Own features end-to-end, from requirements and design through to testing, deployment and incident response
  • Design and manage AWS infrastructure using CDK, CloudFormation or Terraform
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions or similar
  • Implement monitoring, alerting and observability across production environments
  • Work with AWS IAM, secrets management and security best practices
  • Collaborate with product, platform and DevOps teams to deliver scalable engineering solutions
  • Contribute to technical design, documentation, runbooks and architectural decisions

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
