Software Engineer - £50,000 - £60,000 – Financial Services – Basingstoke (Hybrid)

Overview:

We are currently searching for an experienced Software Engineer to join a growing Financial Services organisation based in Basingstoke. The role will focus predominantly on front-end development, building and improving customer-facing digital products, greenfield projects and wider digital initiatives.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop modern front-end applications using Vue.js, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS.
  • Translate UI/UX designs into responsive, high-performing customer-facing applications.
  • Deliver features end-to-end across development, testing and deployment.
  • Build and maintain reusable component libraries using Storybook and modern front-end development practices.
  • Work closely with developers, QA, Business Analysts, DevOps, CRM, design and marketing teams.
  • Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and improvements to application performance, security and scalability.
  • Support user experiments and A/B testing to improve customer conversion and digital journeys.

Technical Requirements:

  • 3+ years' front-end development experience with strong Vue 3 and TypeScript knowledge.
  • Experience with Tailwind CSS, Vite, Storybook, Git/GitLab and GitLab CI/CD.
  • Strong understanding of component-based development, cross-browser compatibility and responsive design.
  • Experience with ESLint, unit testing, automated testing and SOLID development principles.
  • Good understanding of application performance, security principles including OWASP, and scalable software development.
  • Experience with Node.js, Nuxt/Next, Docker, Redis, AWS/Azure, PHP/Laravel, GTM or Google Analytics would be beneficial.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted or agent-based development workflows would also be advantageous.
