Senior API / Cloud-Native Engineer | AWS, EKS & MCP
Hybrid - London
Contract - Long Term
An organisation in financial services is building a new way for its members to access collateral and trade-volume data.
This proof of concept will move beyond static reports towards secure APIs and conversational access through Model Context Protocol (MCP). You’ll help shape the first implementation and establish patterns that can be reused as the platform grows.

This is a hands-on role spanning API development, cloud infrastructure and data integration. You’ll:
- Design Python-based REST APIs connected to a Snowflake data environment
- Deploy services on AWS using Docker and EKS
- Automate infrastructure with Terraform
- Help build an MCP layer that accesses data through governed APIs
- Contribute to security, testing, monitoring, and production readiness

We’re looking for strong experience with AWS, EKS/Kubernetes, Terraform, Python and API engineering, alongside SQL, CI/CD and delivery in an enterprise or regulated environment. Experience with MCP, AI integration, or financial markets data would be useful, but MCP experience is not essential.
