đĄ Why this role is so important
Our customers rely on Rotageek to support important workforce decisions. As a Software Engineer, youâll help build the services, APIs and integrations that make those experiences reliable, secure and easy to extend.
Youâll take ownership of well-scoped features and components, turning clear requirements into simple, robust and maintainable C# and.NET solutions. Youâll work closely with Engineering, QA, Product and Data colleagues from design through to production.
This is a role for an engineer who cares about the whole journey, not just the code. Youâll think about testability, security, performance, observability and the way application data moves into reliable customer-facing experiences.
Youâll also use AI-assisted engineering tools as part of your delivery workflow. Youâll use them to accelerate implementation, testing and refactoring, while applying your judgement to validate the output for correctness, security and architectural fit.
đ ïž What youâll be doing
- Break down well-scoped features into deliverable tasks, identifying dependencies and communicating progress, risks and decisions.
- Design medium-complexity components with clear responsibilities, well-defined interfaces and sensible separation of concerns.
- Write automated tests covering core behaviour and common edge cases, working with QA to ensure the right coverage at the right level.
- Apply established security practices, including OWASP principles, secure handling of data and appropriate escalation of risks.
- Use logs, metrics and traces to monitor, troubleshoot and improve production behaviour.
- Participate in constructive code reviews that improve logic, style, performance and security while helping colleagues grow.
- Work with Data Engineering colleagues on interfaces, data contracts, data quality and operational failure modes.
- Contribute to incident response, post-incident learning and continuous improvement of the services you support.
- Document technical decisions and operational knowledge so the team can understand, support and extend what you build.

â What youâll bring
- Professional experience building software with C# and.NET.
- Strong fundamentals in object-oriented design, APIs, SQL, automated testing and debugging.
- Experience delivering medium-complexity features within an established architecture.
- A practical understanding of secure development, performance, reliability and observability.
- Confidence participating in code reviews and explaining technical decisions clearly.
- The ability to take ownership of work from a well-scoped ticket through to production, including testing, documentation, monitoring and follow-through.
- A collaborative, customer-focused approach to agile delivery.
- The judgement to use AI productively while validating and owning everything it produces.
đ± Nice to have, but not essential
- Experience working closely with Data Engineering, Data Architecture or analytics teams.
- Practical understanding of data modelling, data quality, lineage, data contracts or transformation pipelines.
- Experience building reliable ingestion or integration workflows, event-driven services or messaging-based systems.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift or Databricks, or with BI and semantic-layer concepts.
- Experience working with multi-tenant systems, row-level access controls, PII or GDPR-sensitive data.
- Experience supporting a migration from legacy reporting or BI technology to a governed, modern data platform.
You donât need experience with every tool or concept listed above. Weâre more interested in your engineering fundamentals, problem-solving approach, curiosity and ability to learn.

- You use AI-assisted delivery thoughtfully, validating generated code and tests before they become part of the product.
- You favour simple solutions, evaluate existing libraries and services before building new ones, and avoid unnecessary complexity.
- You take ownership from ticket to production, including documentation, testing, monitoring and follow-through.
- You are comfortable explaining technical choices, listening to alternatives and collaborating across Engineering, QA, Product and Data.
- You connect implementation decisions to customer value, reliability, cost and the wider product experience.
- You share knowledge through pairing, reviews and clear documentation, while asking for help early when a problem needs wider input.

- Cloud-hosted services, with AWS experience useful in our wider platform environment.
- AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude Code or Codex, used with disciplined review and validation.
