Software Engineer
Build technology that makes a real difference.

- Location: Cheltenham (Hybrid) with occasional travel to Herefordshire

What You'll Be Doing
- Design, develop and maintain secure software solutions within highly secure environments.
- Build Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Develop scalable backend services and APIs using Rust, Python or Go.
- Work collaboratively with engineers and technical specialists to deliver high-quality software.
- Use Git to manage source code and support collaborative development.
- Containerise applications using Docker to improve consistency and deployment.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery.
- Write clean, maintainable and well-documented code following best practice.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement across the development team.
- Explore new technologies and approaches to improve software quality and delivery.

Main Skills Needed
- Commercial experience developing Android applications with Kotlin.
- Backend development experience using Rust, Python or Go.
- Strong understanding of Git and collaborative software development.
- Experience with Docker, containerisation and modern deployment practices.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and DevOps principles.
- Understanding of software architecture, APIs, OpenAPI standards and modern development patterns such as MVVM and UDF.
- Comfortable working in secure development environments, including remote development platforms and virtual machines.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline is beneficial.
