Software Engineer

We are looking for a Software Engineer with strong backend engineering experience and a solid understanding of AI agent orchestration.

The role is primarily focused on building and maintaining high-performance backend systems using C#/.NET and SQL Server, while helping ensure the underlying software architecture can support modern AI-driven and agentic workflows.

What you’ll be doing

  • Design, develop and maintain backend software applications using C# .NET Framework and.NET Core.
  • Develop clean, maintainable components that can be exposed as deterministic tools or services to AI orchestration layers.
  • Create and maintain SQL Server stored procedures within highly concurrent and multithreaded environments.
  • Work with other engineers and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Apply appropriate software design patterns and flow-based processing approaches.
  • Write unit tests and apply TDD and BDD principles.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering quality standards.
  • Work within an agile development environment.
  • Help design systems that can interact effectively with AI agents and orchestration frameworks.
  • Apply an understanding of concepts such as state management, state machines, agent loops, tool calling and execution boundaries.
  • Keep up to date with developments in agentic AI and how these approaches can be integrated into enterprise software architectures.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
