Join a cutting-edge 5G and wireless technology company – Southampton, Hybrid Working Model
This innovative UK technology company is developing high-performance physical layer solutions for 5G and next-generation wireless communications, with a particular focus on satellite and Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN). The team are now looking for a Software Engineer to work on the platform and infrastructure software underpinning complex 5G NR PHY systems.
You’ll be focused on developing and optimising software for real-time embedded platforms, working closely with PHY algorithms, hardware and system teams to deliver highly performant solutions. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working at the intersection of C/C++, embedded systems, Linux and hardware acceleration.

For this Software Engineer role, we are looking for someone with:
- Strong experience developing C or C++ software for performance-critical systems
- Experience with real-time embedded systems and/or Embedded Linux
- Strong understanding of software optimisation, ideally including SIMD, multi-threading or hardware acceleration
- Knowledge of Python, Bash or another scripting language for automation and testing
- Experience integrating software with ARM-based embedded platforms
- Exposure to 5G NR, signal processing, O-RAN or other wireless technologies would be highly beneficial
