Are you a .NET Software Engineer looking to broaden your experience into TypeScript, Node.js and AWS?
We’re recruiting for a mid-level Backend Engineer for an established retail business embarking on a significant technology modernisation programme.
You’ll join the Back of House engineering team, initially using your.NET experience to support business-critical applications and help prepare the existing estate for migration. Longer term, the direction is clear: moving away from legacy .NET applications towards modern, service-based architecture using TypeScript, Node.js and AWS.
This means you don’t need to already know the entire modern stack. If you have solid.NET experience and want to develop your skills across Node.js, TypeScript, cloud and modern architecture, you’ll have experienced engineers around you to support that progression.

Day to day
- Build and support APIs, backend services and integrations
- Work with SQL databases
- Solve production issues
- Contribute to the modernisation of existing applications
What we're looking for
- .NET development experience is the main requirement, alongside commercial experience building and supporting applications, APIs or backend services.
- Experience with SQL, Git and production systems will also be important.
- Exposure to TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, AWS, Azure, microservices or event-driven architecture would be useful, but not essential.
- Most importantly, you’ll be comfortable working with existing technology while being keen to learn and contribute to where the engineering environment is heading next.
The role
- Hybrid with 1 day a week in the Leamington Spa HQ
- Offers a salary of up to £50,000 depending on experience
