C++ Software Engineer – Rapid Application Development (RAD)
Location: London (Hybrid – minimum 3 days onsite)
Employment: Permanent
Seniority: Mid-Level and Senior
About the Role
We're working with an established financial exchange looking to hire C++ Engineers into its Rapid Application Development (RAD) team.
You'll work across a high-performance trading platform, investigating complex production issues, developing internal tools, and rapidly prototyping new technical solutions.
This is an opportunity for engineers who enjoy problem-solving, understanding how complex systems work, and building reliable, high-performance software.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve complex production issues.
- Develop and maintain C++ applications and internal tools.
- Build diagnostic utilities, test frameworks, and performance benchmarks.
- Prototype new technical solutions and trading features.
- Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, QA, and operations teams.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and improve system reliability.

Requirements
- Strong commercial C++ experience (C++11 or later).
- Experience working with Linux systems.
- Understanding of networking protocols, including TCP, UDP, and multicast.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with Python, SQL, Git, and CI/CD.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience levels:
Mid-Level: 4+ years of professional C++ development.
Senior: 10+ years of professional C++ development, with extensive Linux, networking, and production troubleshooting experience.

Previous financial markets experience is advantageous but not essential. Candidates from systems programming, embedded systems, telecommunications, and other performance-critical environments are welcome.
Location & Eligibility
- London-based hybrid working – minimum 3 days per week onsite.
- Applicants must have existing unrestricted UK right to work.
- Visa sponsorship is not available.
