Software Engineer – High-Growth AI Company | Remote-First (UK) | Up to £100,000 + Bonus + Equity
Want to work on a platform that's actually under load? This one handles thousands of transactions every second, and it needs engineers who enjoy making fast systems faster.
The company is a fast-growing, profitable AI business with around 600 people. It's still in the phase where a mid-level engineer can ship meaningful work quickly and grow with the platform.
What you'll work on
You'll join a product engineering team building and running backend services in production. Your work will include:

- Designing, building and shipping backend services, mainly in Go
- Building event-driven services on messaging platforms such as Kafka
- Improving performance, reliability and observability across live systems
- Taking part in code reviews, design discussions and technical planning
- Debugging production issues and fixing them at the root
- Working closely with product and senior engineers to deliver features end to end
What they're looking for
- 3–5 years' professional software engineering experience
- Strong backend skills in Go, or in Rust or Java with an interest in moving to Go
- Hands-on experience building distributed systems
- Experience with messaging or streaming tools such as Kafka, Google Pub/Sub or RabbitMQ
- Experience building and supporting production systems
