Software Engineer

Pontiro | Newport, South Wales | Hybrid | Permanent, full time

About Pontiro

Pontiro is an independent evaluation company for healthcare AI. We work with hospitals, healthcare providers and AI vendors to understand how AI tools perform in real clinical settings.

We also build anonymisation tooling for medical imaging and clinical data, allowing organisations to use it for research and development while protecting patient privacy.

We are a startup based in Newport, South Wales, with platforms already running in live healthcare environments. The team is small and growing, and there is considerable scope to shape both the product and the way we build it.

The role

We are hiring a Software Engineer to help build and scale our evaluation and anonymisation platforms. You will work closely with our Chief Technology Officer on the systems that process clinical data, run evaluations and deliver results to customers.

This is a broad engineering role with significant ownership. You will work across the stack, from data processing and APIs through to reporting interfaces and production deployment, and you will see the direct effect of your work in live healthcare environments.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
