Software Engineer (Remote)

Location: 100% Remote

Compensation: $40 – $150/hour (Based on experience and engagement type)

Employment Type: Full-Time available

The Role

We are looking for a versatile, product-minded Software Engineer to design, build, and ship production-grade software in a fully remote, async-first environment. Whether you lean toward frontend, backend, or full-stack development, you will be instrumental in building scalable web applications, robust APIs, and high-performance backend services. Because we work across a variety of modern tech stacks (including Python, TypeScript, Go, Rust, and Java), we value polyglot engineers who possess strong core fundamentals and the ability to adapt quickly.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver who takes pride in writing clean code, thrives with high autonomy, and is comfortable owning features from ideation to deployment.

What You Will Do

  • End-to-End Ownership: Design, build, and ship scalable production features across the frontend, backend, or full-stack layers.
  • Code Excellence: Write clean, highly maintainable, and rigorously tested code in your primary technical stack.
  • System Architecture: Actively participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and sprint planning to shape the technical direction of our products.
  • Async Collaboration: Partner seamlessly with product managers, designers, data scientists, and AI engineers across different time zones.
  • Continuous Improvement: Optimize system performance, enhance reliability, and elevate the internal developer experience.
  • Operational Excellence: Troubleshoot complex bugs and contribute to production incident responses when necessary.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
