The Role

Flok is building the new standard for healthcare delivery, with engineering as a secret weapon. We believe great software (including AI) has the potential to massively reduce the level of healthcare scarcity felt all around the world, and we are working on making that future happen.

We don't shy away from hard problems that stand in the way of the best patient experience. Our systems includes a custom decision engine, real-time video streamer, and class IIa medical device, across a mix of Python, Rust and Typescript. Even before LLMs made it a more common choice, we biased towards building internal tools wherever we could see an opportunity to automate work and give ourselves more power.

Over the next 18-24 months we are expanding our geographical and product footprint, which will be challenging on multiple levels: Our infrastructure will need to mature, our custom software will need to be generalised as we treat more clinical conditions, and our collection of internal tools will need to grow, particularly across operations & data.

If You're a Generalist Engineer Who Wants Responsibility And Ownership, Come And Help Us Do That

You'll Particularly Fit In If Any Of These Sound Like You

  • you have experience of scaling web applications, particularly involving video/data distribution
  • you really care about user experiences and think you have good product taste
  • you have mathematical background/inclination
  • you have built low level or embedded software
  • you have worked on decision/rule systems

We believe technology is (and always has been) the best way to improve peoples' lives, as long as it is used for good.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
