About The Role
As a Software Engineer specializing in C++, you will play a pivotal role in developing mission-critical, secure software systems that underpin national defense and security operations. You will be engaged in designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance software solutions that meet stringent standards for security, reliability, and efficiency. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in developing secure, high-performance software using modern C++. Experience in defense, aerospace, or other high-assurance environments is advantageous but not mandatory. Candidates must demonstrate a passion for delivering reliable systems that make a tangible difference and possess a proactive, detail-oriented approach to software development.
Essential Qualifications Include
- Proven experience with modern C++ (C++11 and above) and object-oriented design principles.
- Strong understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and real-time software design.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems and cross-platform development environments.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and unit testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of secure coding standards and best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within teams.
Desirable qualifications include
- Experience with embedded or mission-critical systems.
- Middleware technologies such as DDS or ZeroMQ.
- Scripting languages like Python or Bash.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies such as Scrum or SAFe.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for engineering secure, high-performance software systems that support mission-critical defense operations. Your key responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing modern C++ software solutions aligned with mission objectives and security standards.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients to translate technical requirements into effective, innovative solutions.
- Applying secure coding practices, optimizing software performance, and conducting rigorous testing to ensure reliability and security.
- Contributing to Agile ceremonies, maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Producing clear technical documentation and sharing knowledge across teams to foster a collaborative environment.
- Engaging in technical reviews, code inspections, and contributing to the evolution of software architecture.
