Make your mark at one of the biggest names in payments. We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our ever-evolving Worldpay Alternative Payments team and help shape the future of global commerce.

What you’ll own

Working with the Development Manager and as part of a BRO (Build Release Operate) team you will be contributing with your own code to the team’s delivery, helping other team members and ensuring the team delivers following sound engineering principles of software craftsmanship.

You will also strive to advance the department and wider Development community by actively contributing to department initiatives.

Your responsibilities will be

  • Produce well structured, maintainable, reliable, and fit-for-purpose code at an accepted level of quality
  • Produce system requirements and estimates from business requirements
  • Proactively identify and suggest improvements and enhancements to working practices to the team level
  • Participate in the operation of the services owned by the team by providing out-of-hours support one out of five weeks
  • Demonstrate a can-do attitude and a sense of responsibility for the wider implications of software engineering
  • Demonstrate a flexible approach necessary for the role as business requirements and their relative priorities are subject to review and change

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience and/or a genuine passion for software development
  • Degree level education (in a related subject of computing, math, science) or equivalent
  • Knowledge/practical application of agile methodologies
  • Track record in delivering work to schedule and to specification
  • Experience of Software development on Microsoft stack (C#,.NET, Visual Studio), Cloud technologies, cloud tooling, and SQL

It’s a bonus if you have

  • Experience of Software development using SOLID principles and Software Design Patterns
  • Experience of Rest API
  • Experience of Test-Driven Development
  • Experience of AWS, Kubernetes, and OpenShift
  • Experience of DevOps
  • Experience of Cloud Development environments
  • Knowledge of web application security
  • Knowledge of prompting AI to get the desired outcomes
