Murex Technical Consultant – 12 Month Contract

I’m currently supporting a leading global financial institution with the search for an experienced Murex Technical Consultant to join a major Murex upgrade programme, alongside delivering enhancements to the existing Murex Enterprise Risk Management platform.

Contract: 12 months

Rate: Up to £700/day (Umbrella)

This is a hands-on technical role working closely with traders, Credit Risk and Market Risk teams, as well as wider technology and development teams.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting the delivery of a major Murex version upgrade
  • Conducting gap analysis between the current and target Murex versions and working with upstream/downstream development teams to address findings
  • Helping define the overall regression testing strategy and supporting defect investigation and triage
  • Contributing to the overall implementation and migration strategy
  • Working with SMEs and Business Analysts to develop new Market Risk and Credit Risk solutions within Murex
  • Delivering ongoing enhancements across MLC, Market Risk and Trade Pricing
  • Supporting data migration activities, including migration to cloud-based infrastructure
  • Murex configuration across Credit Risk, Market Risk and workflows
  • Datamart configuration and reporting
  • Interface development across TDS, LTS and MDIT, including trade, market data and static data interfaces
  • Root cause analysis of production/operational issues and coordination with development teams and vendors
  • Supporting automation and ensuring technical runbooks/documentation remain up to date
  • Reporting project progress, risks and impediments to key stakeholders

  • Strong hands-on Murex / MX.3 technical experience
  • Previous experience delivering a Murex upgrade, ideally within a risk platform
  • Market Risk: VaR, DV01, NOP
  • Credit Risk: PFE, CVA, SIMM
  • MLC and Market Risk modules
  • Workflow configuration and development
  • Datamart configuration
  • Interface development – TDS, LTS, MDIT
  • Trade pricing knowledge
  • Strong SQL and Linux/Unix Bash scripting skills
  • Exposure to Control-M, Azure DevOps (ADO), ServiceNow and Confluence would also be beneficial

Ideally, you’ll have 5+ years of experience delivering technical solutions using Murex and be comfortable operating in a complex capital markets environment with both technical and business stakeholders.
