Software Engineer – Data Platform | Contract

Outside IR35 | £600>£800/day | 6 months initially | London / Hybrid

Technologies

TypeScript | Python | Airflow | Azure | Node.js | AI/ML

We're looking for a couple of experienced engineers with a blend of software and data engineering skills for an initial 6-month contract, working across the data platform behind a global investment product.

The Challenge

The challenge is messy, fragmented investment data coming from multiple external systems, administrators and formats.

The assignment spans the full journey of that data: ingesting it, modelling and reconciling it into a reliable data layer, then building the APIs that make it available across the wider product.

The Project

There's a significant amount of engineering work underway across the data platform, with contractors being brought in to help deliver across pipelines, data models, storage and access APIs.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
