Software Engineer
Location: Bristol or Edinburgh
Overview
Our client is a large UK mobility services organisation seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join a product team delivering and maintaining software for internal and external customers.
The role operates within an agile product delivery environment and focuses on delivering working software, incorporating user feedback and continually improving both products and engineering practices.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and maintain software for internal and external customers.
- Work collaboratively within an agile product team.
- Focus on delivering working software that meets user needs.
- Contribute to building the team’s AI capability to improve effectiveness.
- Use customer feedback and best practice to evolve software and services.
- Continuously review and improve software delivery approaches.
- Apply test-driven development, automation and shift-left practices to build quality into delivery.
- Adopt a build-to-run approach, ensuring software and systems are straightforward to support and operate.
- Contribute to improving engineering practices and making development easier for other engineers.
- Work collaboratively to support effective team delivery.
