Software Engineer – Embedded Systems (Electric Vehicle)

Purpose: Design, develop, and test embedded software for EV control systems, validated through model/software/hardware-in-the-loop and vehicle testing.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop EV application software using MATLAB/Simulink
  • Verify code coverage and software structure with appropriate tools
  • Build test suites to validate and report against requirements
  • Support Cyber Security and Functional Safety analysis, implementation, and testing
  • Deliver production-grade software in a team setting under tight deadlines
  • Support vehicle commissioning/testing, including occasional off-site work

Essential Requirements

Knowledge

  • Requirements traceability (stakeholder → implementation)
  • V-model development process

Experience

  • Automotive software/control systems development for production
  • Strong Model-Based Design (MATLAB/Simulink) skills
  • Vehicle communication protocols (e.g., CAN)
  • Vehicle commissioning, testing, calibration, debugging

  • Occasional overtime and overseas travel
  • Off-site engineering support and inter-company integration visits

Desirable (Nice-to-Have)

  • ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) / ISO 21434 (Cyber Security) knowledge
  • ASPICE familiarity
  • Hybrid/EV-specific software experience
  • 5+ years industry experience
  • Cyber security concepts, version control/release processes, automotive diagnostics protocols, toolchain setup, low-level programming/software architecture, X-in-the-loop development
