Software Engineer
Location: Remote (UK)
Duration: 6+ Months
Pay Rate: £55–£65 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to build and maintain automation systems that keep large-scale, cloud-based applications running reliably in production. This role focuses on improving operational efficiency through AI-driven automation, maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring the stability of cloud infrastructure supporting live applications across multiple platforms.
You will work closely with engineering teams responsible for platform reliability, release management, and production operations to reduce manual effort through intelligent automation and self-healing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain automation for production systems, including release pipelines, build health monitoring, incident detection, and crash analysis.
- Develop AI-assisted tools capable of identifying, diagnosing, and automatically resolving software issues.
- Build systems that detect failed builds, identify root causes, and recommend or implement fixes.
- Monitor production environments and respond to performance regressions, incidents, and service disruptions.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines and support infrastructure migrations while maintaining service reliability.
- Reduce operational overhead and on-call effort through scalable automation solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to improve deployment quality and system resilience.

Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of professional Software Engineering experience.
- Strong experience designing and operating CI/CD, build, release, and deployment pipelines.
- Experience managing cloud infrastructure and production services at scale.
- Proven experience building AI-powered developer tools, autonomous agents, or self-healing systems.
- Experience with production monitoring, incident response, and crash diagnostics.
- Strong understanding of backend services, distributed systems, and cloud deployments.
- Demonstrated ability to automate repetitive operational tasks and improve platform reliability.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with cloud application streaming or remote rendering technologies.
- Knowledge of CDN, asset delivery, or large-scale deployment pipelines.
- Experience supporting live-service applications in production.
- Familiarity with large monorepos, dependency management, and build systems.
- Experience designing automated remediation or self-recovery solutions.
