Decades of low-latency engineering discipline sit behind it: a mature C++ organisation, a dedicated performance engineering function, and internal tooling most firms never build. Every nanosecond is contested ground, and every cache miss is a bug.
That machinery is now pointed at the least efficient market they have ever traded. Crypto venues match faster than they settle, and the edge lives in that gap. The constraint is an engineering one, not a strategy one.
They're hiring a software engineer to own the core of the real-time execution platform: a system that ingests millions of market events per second and executes deterministically. Not usually. Deterministically.
What you'd own
- The hot path: zero-copy, lock-free pipelines, ring buffers, cache-aligned structures, and allocators you write yourself.
- Market data connectivity built per-venue and tuned to single-digit microsecond latency.
- Execution and order management where branch prediction and SIMD pricing logic are design inputs, not afterthoughts.
- Nanosecond-precision timestamping and clock synchronisation across distributed infrastructure.
- Direct work with quant researchers: their strategies are only worth what your execution delivers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Why this role
- Scale without the constraint. Deep balance sheet, no external investors, no quarterly story to tell. Long-horizon infrastructure work gets funded.
- A market that still rewards engineering. Fragmented venues, young protocols, real inefficiency. Latency buys edge here the way it stopped buying edge in equities a decade ago.
- People who have already done it. You'd be joining an established performance engineering culture rather than inventing one, and you won't be the only person in the building who thinks in cache lines.

What you'd bring
- Primarily C++. Deep Rust backgrounds are equally interesting.
- You've built ultra-low latency systems in trading or an adjacent high-frequency domain.
- You're fluent in concurrency, memory ordering and real-time scheduling, and comfortable in perf, VTune and flamegraphs.
- You benchmark rather than assume. Data over instinct, every time.
- Crypto microstructure knowledge is a bonus, not a filter. Much of the desk came from equities, futures and options.
