The Role

We are currently looking to hire a Software Engineer in our Research and Development team at our coastal office in Weymouth. Do you love working in a fun, forward-thinking environment?

As a Software Engineer you will maintain and manage applications of current and developing technology, and undertake engineering design, development, and operation of printing solutions, factory line solutions, and their associated modules and configurable options.

You will:
- Maintain and extend a sound theoretical approach to enable development and application of technology.
- Use a sound evidence-based approach to problem solving and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Identify, review, and select techniques, procedures, and methods to undertake engineering tasks.
- Contribute to the design and development of engineering solutions.
- Implement design solutions for equipment or processes and contribute to their evaluation.
- Plan the work and resources needed to enable effective implementation of engineering tasks.
- Manage, organise and control programme, budget and resource elements of significant engineering tasks or projects.
- Communicate effectively with others at all levels in English and present technical proposals, justifications and conclusions.
- Maintain and develop continuing professional development and technical competence.
About You
You are an experienced software engineer with a strong technical background, a practical approach to engineering problem solving, and the ability to contribute to the design, development and implementation of software solutions.
You Will Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline / equivalent Level 6 qualification with mid-level experience, OR Level 5 qualification HND) with senior-level experience, OR Incorporated Engineer with mid-level experience, OR comparable specialist knowledge with mid-level professional experience.
- Experience in the design and validation of engineering requirements.
- Experience of Source Control Systems.
- Experience of the Software Development Lifecycle.
- Experience of Object-Orientated Programming.
- Experience of UML.
- Competent in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Experience of hardware and real time control systems.
Experience of design patterns.
Experience with Visual Studio.
Experience in C#/.NET programming language.
