Job Title

Software Engineer / Forward Deployed Engineer

Salary

£150k-£300k + Equity

Company Description

Meticulous is a London-based startup building foundational technology for autonomous, exhaustive frontend testing to make AI-generated code safe to ship. Growing 5x year-on-year, the team is backed by the investors behind Twilio and PagerDuty, alongside individual investors like the founders of Vercel, Datadog, and the CTO of GitHub.

Job Description

This hybrid role splits time between core engineering on browser technology and distributed systems, and leading high-stakes customer deployments. You will own technical relationships with engineering leaders at firms like Notion and Dropbox, architecting solutions that integrate Meticulous into their infrastructure to radically accelerate software development cycles and enable safe AI-powered code generation.

Location

London, UK

Why this role is remarkable

  • Join a hypergrowth startup scaling from millions to $100M ARR, working with top-tier customers like Discord, Wiz, and ElevenLabs who often prioritize Meticulous over any other vendor.
  • Tackle unique engineering challenges at the intersection of browser technology and testing infrastructure, building tools that no other company has successfully replicated in the market.
  • Work directly with a high-density talent team of former leaders from Google, Meta, and Palantir, while building a powerful network with legendary investors like Guillermo Rauch and Arash Ferdowsi.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What You Will Do

  • Architect and deploy Meticulous at scale for enterprise customers, designing implementation strategies that integrate seamlessly with complex, real-world architectures and existing engineering systems.
  • Ship core product features and deep technical fixes to the deterministic browser engine based on field requirements to unblock major customer rollouts and advance the core technology.
  • Act as the technical lead for VP-level stakeholders, driving the scoping and integration process while establishing the playbook, tooling, and best practices for the new Forward Deployed function.

The ideal candidate

  • At least 3 years of experience in a demanding technical role with exceptional engineering skills in distributed systems, browser internals, or complex frontend infrastructure.
  • Highly agentic and entrepreneurial mindset with a strong bias for action, taking ownership end-to-end and communicating complex architectural decisions to senior engineering leadership.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time to US customer sites and the flexibility to collaborate effectively across London and US time zones.

We never post fake jobs

This isn't a trick. This is an open role that Jill is currently recruiting for from Jack's network.

Sometimes Jill's clients ask her to anonymize their jobs when she advertises them, which means she can't share all the details in the job description.

We appreciate this can make them look a bit suspect, but there isn't much we can do about it.

Give Jack a spin! You could land this role. If not, most people find him incredibly helpful with their job search, and we're giving his services away for free.
