Our client is looking for an experienced Contract Developer to join their technology team, supporting the development, enhancement and ongoing maintenance of a range of business-critical applications used across the organisation.

4 Month contract
2 Days onsite in either Birmingham, Northampton, Manchester or Leeds. Your choice.

Working as part of an established development function, you'll play a key role in delivering enterprise-level solutions from initial requirements through to deployment and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand, analyse and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Design, develop and maintain applications using C#, Microsoft SQL Server and associated Microsoft technologies.
  • Produce high-quality, secure and maintainable code in line with established development standards and best practices.
  • Carry out testing, debugging and troubleshooting to ensure applications remain stable, reliable and fit for purpose.
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation for new developments and system enhancements.
  • Provide realistic effort estimates and contribute to delivery planning.
  • Support change management processes, ensuring system updates are implemented safely and effectively.
  • Provide ongoing application support, investigating issues, identifying root causes and implementing long-term fixes.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and business users to resolve incidents, answer queries and continuously improve existing systems.
  • Assess technical risks associated with proposed changes and contribute to implementation plans for more complex enhancements.

Essential

  • Commercial experience developing applications using C#.
  • Experience building modern web applications with Razor and/or Blazor.
  • Good understanding of Azure DevOps and modern software development practices.
  • Broad understanding of enterprise IT systems and application architecture.

Desirable

  • Experience with JavaScript and CSS.
  • Exposure to Microsoft 365 development, including Microsoft Graph API.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Apps.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI.
  • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
