Software Engineer

We are currently looking for Software Engineers to join a team based in Osterley, London.

Location: Osterley – Hybrid, 2–3 days per week onsite

Initial Duration: 3 months

Extension: Potential extension may be available, but is not guaranteed

About the Role

We are looking for experienced Software Engineers who can contribute to the development, enhancement and support of software applications within an established engineering team.

The ideal candidate will have strong backend development experience, combined with frontend capability and a solid understanding of modern software engineering practices, APIs, microservices and cloud-based environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain reliable software applications and services.
  • Develop and support backend services using Java and/or C#.
  • Build and maintain frontend applications using ReactJS.
  • Design, develop and support APIs and microservices.
  • Work with relational and NoSQL databases and support data-driven applications.
  • Develop and integrate messaging and event-driven solutions.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve issues within production environments.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated software delivery processes.
  • Work collaboratively with developers, technical teams and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to code reviews, testing, debugging and continuous improvement.

Key Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Strong commercial experience with Java and/or C#.
  • Strong experience with ReactJS.
  • Experience developing and supporting APIs and microservices.
  • Experience working with databases such as Oracle and/or Couchbase.
  • Experience with messaging/event-driven technologies such as Kafka, ActiveMQ or AmazonMQ.
  • Understanding of observability, including logs, metrics and alerting.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based development workflows.
  • Strong experience troubleshooting and supporting production systems.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Prometheus, Grafana or CloudWatch.
  • Experience with Concourse or similar CI/CD tooling.
  • Experience working in cloud-based environments.
  • Experience working within Agile software development teams.
