Software Developer (Java & AWS Full Stack)
Rate: Up to £470 per day
Location: Hybrid (3 days per week onsite in Manchester or Leeds or Newcastle)
Clearance Required: Active SC Clearance
The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Software Developer with strong Java and AWS expertise to join a large-scale digital delivery programme building modern cloud-native applications and services.
Working within Agile teams, you'll be involved in the full software development lifecycle, developing scalable back-end services, APIs, and user-facing applications while leveraging AWS cloud technologies and modern engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications and microservices.
- Build and support cloud-native solutions using AWS.
- Develop back-end services using Java.
- Design and integrate RESTful APIs and API Gateway solutions.
- Develop responsive front-end applications using HTML5 and modern web technologies.
- Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, testers, and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Support production environments and continuous service improvement initiatives.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience with Java development.
- Experience developing applications within AWS cloud environments.
- Full-stack development experience.
- Strong knowledge of HTML5 and web application development.
- Experience designing and developing APIs and working with API Gateway technologies.
- Experience with software testing and quality engineering practices.
- Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern software engineering practices.
- Active SC Clearance.
