Senior Software Developer – C#.NET

Prem – London – Hybrid – 3 DAYS A WEEK ONSITE

Harrington Starr has partnered up with a Trading House based in Central London and you’ll be joining a leading energy trading organisation to oversee the delivery of technology solutions supporting a 24-hour Global Trading Platform.

You will act as the key technology partner to the Trading Desk ensuring systems, data, and tooling enable commercial performance across trading, shipping, and risk management. This is a hands-on delivery role for someone who understands trading workflows, can lead a senior technology team, and can translate front-office requirements into scalable, reliable solutions.

Job Responsibilities

Business Partnering

  • Serve as the primary technologist using Microsoft technologies.
  • Translate commercial and trading requirements into technology deliverables.
  • Build effective relationships with traders, analysts, and senior stakeholders.

Technology Delivery

  • You must have extensive Systems Design experience.
  • Experience of Fundamentals of Software Engineering.

Systems Design & Modernisation

  • Work with architects to design scalable, secure, and integrated solutions.
  • Ensure seamless integration with trading systems, market data, and risk platforms.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to use AI/ML, analytics, and cloud technologies to improve trading performance.
  • Drive improvements in system performance, usability, and reliability to increase adoption.

Skills you’ll need

  • Strong experience delivering technology solutions in a trading environment.
  • Understanding of trading workflows, freight, shipping operations, and risk management.
  • Experience with Front Office Trading Systems or Fintech Systems.
  • Technical background in development, systems integration, or data engineering using Microsoft Technologies in C#.NET, SQL, and some Python.

This role will not suit candidates who are not based in London. Working with a Global Distributed Team, with an impressive Basic salary up to £140,000 plus bonus and benefits.
