Software Engineers | North East | Relocation Support Available

We’re working with a growing technical organisation that is making a significant investment in its engineering team in the North East.

As part of that growth, we’re looking to speak with experienced Software Engineers from across the UK who would be open to relocating for the right opportunity.

Please note: You must be eligible for UK Security Clearance. Visa sponsorship is not available for these opportunities.

This isn’t one narrowly defined vacancy. The team is growing across a number of areas, so we’re interested in people from backgrounds including:

  • Software & Application Engineering
  • Backend & Full Stack Development
  • Systems & Low-Level Software
  • Embedded & Real-Time Engineering
  • Cloud & Platform Engineering
  • Technical Leadership

What are we looking for?

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

We’re looking for people with strong commercial software engineering experience, ideally around 5+ years, although there is some flexibility depending on your background.

Application Side Experience

  • C#/.NET, Java or Python
  • Backend and web application development
  • SQL and APIs
  • React and TypeScript
  • AWS or Azure

Systems or Low-Level Background Experience

  • C++ or Rust
  • Linux development
  • Embedded or real-time software
  • High-performance or low-latency systems
  • Performance optimisation

You don’t need to tick every box. We’re hiring across different areas and are much more interested in people who have built real depth within their area of engineering.

Why consider it?

It’s a chance to join while the engineering team is growing and have a genuine impact on how that develops.

You’ll be working on technically challenging projects and, for more experienced engineers, there’s the opportunity to stay hands-on while getting involved in technical direction, architecture, engineering standards, code quality, and mentoring.

Not currently based in the North East?

That’s absolutely fine.

We’re looking at talent across the UK and appreciate that relocating is a big consideration. Relocation support is available for anyone interested in exploring the opportunity and making the move.

If you’re an experienced Software Engineer and this sounds like something you’d be interested in hearing more about, apply or get in touch for an initial confidential conversation.
