MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in either C++ or Java or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
- 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
ABOUT THE JOB:
Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.

We bring together the best of Google technologies and AI, health behavior science, and user-centered design to help users organize the health and wellness data, get insight from it, and take action toward their health goals. We do this with a suite of apps, services, and health wearables. We aim to make consumer health more personal, proactive, and actionable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create a unified logging system for home and health to ensure consistent logs that are joinable into sessions. Reduce the barrier for teams to log information that will help during debugging.
- Scale health infrastructure to more users. Future product launches this year have the potential for our user base to dramatically increase and it is the team’s mission to identify scaling bottlenecks ahead of time and remove them.
- Monitor, track and increase efficiency of TPU usage in Health.
- Write clean generalizable code and help promote a culture of pragmatic support for the teams who use our platform.
