As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Asset & Wealth Management Client Service team, you will develop software products critical to business advancement. You will work within an agile team to build, enhance, and deliver secure, stable, and scalable technology solutions. Your role will involve contributing to technical solutions, applying software engineering best practices, and fostering a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect. Together, we'll deliver solutions that support the firm's business objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting to build solutions and solve technical problems
- Contribute to expanding the digital experience offered to clients
- Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others
- Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Demonstrate initiative by bringing ideas, passion, and ownership to improve the team and products
- Engage with communities of practice across Software Engineering to learn about and adopt new and emerging technologies
- Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards
- Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation
- Add to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and proficient applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Working knowledge and experience in backend development using Java and Spring
- Working knowledge and experience in frontend development using React and front-end testing frameworks
- Experience with messaging platforms such as Kafka
- Familiarity with automation and continuous delivery methods
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Working knowledge of agile methodologies such as continuous integration/continuous delivery, application resiliency, and security
- Practical cloud-native experience
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, testing, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience working within asset management, wealth management, or client-facing financial technology platforms
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Exposure to event-driven architecture and distributed systems design
- Experience with modern front-end component libraries and design systems
