About our team
We are expanding our Public Cloud Engineering organization into EMEA region by establishing a new Identity and Access Management (IAM) team to better serve our customers and strengthen collaboration across our global engineering teams.
This is a unique opportunity to join at the ground level and help shape a new team, its technical direction, engineering culture, and operational excellence. The team will own critical Identity domains that support our platform across multiple public cloud infrastructure such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.

As a Senior Software Engineer at JPMorganChase in Public Cloud Engineering, you will design and deliver secure, stable, scalable platform services and features as part of an agile team. You will write and validate code, contribute to system design, and deliver reliable, maintainable, well-architected solutions across multiple technical areas in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
- Write, review, and maintain production code across stacks - whether that code originates from you, a teammate, or an AI tool. Apply engineering judgement to ensure it meets our standards regardless of its source.
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.
- Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- You love writing code and are keen to learn and follow industry best practices.
- You are willing to engage with AI tooling as part of your workflow. You do not need to be an expert - but you should be open to using these tools where they help and applying critical judgement where they do not.
- You are keen to learn and improve skills such as Test Driven Development (TDD), Behavior Driven Development (BDD), automation - you see testing as an engineering discipline.
- You have experience in, or are prepared to learn Java, Spring, Go, Python, and Infrastructure as code (IAC) e.g. Terraform, Kubernetes, etc.
- Practical, hands-on cloud native experience. You have built and operated services on at least one of the cloud providers at scale - AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- You are curious, innovative, and enjoy a challenge and have high standards and high expectations from the people you work with.
- You are aware of the big picture and how your work will impact our customers and can communicate effectively based on the audience.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience working in financial services or another highly regulated environment
- Experience with Identity and Access management platform
