About The Role

As a Front-End Engineer within J.P. Morgan’s International Consumer Bank, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the digital banking experience for millions of customers. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a pioneering team building the bank of the future from scratch, utilizing a start-up mentality within a global financial institution. You will be responsible for delivering end-to-end innovative solutions through cloud-native microservices architecture, leveraging the latest technologies and industry best practices. Your involvement will span the entire software development lifecycle, from design and architecture to implementation and testing.

The Front-End Engineering team is at the core of this digital transformation, focused on translating smart ideas into seamless, customer-centric applications. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess formal training or certification in JavaScript concepts, coupled with proven applied experience. Proficiency in writing clean, testable JavaScript code and deep expertise in the React framework are essential. Familiarity with unit testing, REST APIs, and GraphQL is required to ensure robust application development. Candidates should be comfortable working in agile environments, often with geographically distributed teams, and demonstrate excellent communication skills in English. The ability to prioritize customer needs and deliver timely solutions is crucial.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features that enhance user experience and functionality.
  • Create and maintain a clean, efficient, and reusable codebase that adheres to best practices and industry standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing to ensure the robustness, reliability, and performance of applications, including troubleshooting and debugging issues as they arise.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide progress updates, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Mentor junior developers, offering guidance on coding standards, best practices, and career development.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving best practices in front-end development to continuously improve skills and project outcomes.
  • Drive initiatives aimed at refining development processes, workflows, and overall team productivity, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
