🚀 Automation QA Engineer (.NET / C# / BDD) – 12-Month Contract | Financial Services & Energy Trading
We are seeking two Mid-to-Senior Automation QA Engineers to join a rapid-scale transformation programme delivered in partnership with a global technology and management consultancy.
This is a hands-on engineering role with project mentorship elements, ideal for QA engineers who bring strong technical depth alongside clear, outcome-driven communication skills.
📌 Role Highlights
- Duration: 12-Month Contract (Inside IR35)
- Rate: £470 – £570 per day (depending on experience)
- Location: Hybrid – 2 Days/Week on-site in Central London (Regent's Park / Victoria area)

🛠️ What You’ll Do
- Drive automation testing within an Agile delivery team, maintaining an approximate 70:30 split between automated and manual testing.
- Design, build, and maintain robust test automation frameworks using C# /.NET and BDD tools like SpecFlow or Reqnroll.
- Create fixtures (step definitions) and write clear, maintainable Gherkin scenarios.
- Test event-driven architectures leveraging messaging brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar) along with complex data flows and SQL databases.
- Integrate automated packs into continuous delivery pipelines using ALM tools such as Azure DevOps.
- Articulate testing outcomes and business value clearly to stakeholders, while mentoring junior team members.

🎯 What We're Looking For
- Technical Core: Proven hands-on experience in C# /.NET automation, BDD frameworks (SpecFlow / Reqnroll / Cucumber), SQL, and messaging platforms.
- Experience Level: 3+ years of experience in test engineering with strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Domain Background: Experience in Capital Markets, Trading, Commodities, FX, or Financial Services is highly desirable. (Energy trading domain experience is not strictly required!)
- Communication: Ability to clearly articulate the business outcomes and value of your testing (e.g., time saved, reliability gained), not just the technical steps.
