About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Data Platform Engineer to join our User Trail team. In this role, you will be instrumental in defining and executing the technical vision for our analytics and observability platform that captures user interactions across our core web applications. Your primary focus will be on unlocking the value of our data for various teams within the company, including support, trading, business, and product teams. You will lead efforts to develop self-service tools, dashboards, and AI-powered solutions that enable teams to access and analyze data efficiently. As a senior member of the team, you will solve complex, multi-layered technical problems, anticipate scaling needs, and drive continuous improvements in both technology and processes. Your expertise will influence decision-making, guide best practices, and foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-impact projects that support the growth and success of our organization on a global scale.

Qualifications
- 11+ years of software development and engineering experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Deep expertise in backend services, data-intensive systems, event pipelines, data warehouses, or lakehouse platforms
- Proven ability to solve complex, ambiguous technical problems end-to-end
- Strong understanding of data architecture, analytics, and observability platforms
- Experience in designing and implementing self-service data tools and dashboards
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical tradeoffs and ROI considerations
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation
- Experience mentoring other engineers and fostering technical growth within teams
Responsibilities
- Define and lead the technical strategy for unlocking and utilizing data across the organization, including self-service tools and AI-powered solutions
- Solve complex problems that span multiple platform components, making informed tradeoffs to balance access, investment, and performance
- Anticipate future scaling needs and proactively plan for growth in data volume and user demand
- Identify and implement improvements in development processes, tooling, and quality practices to enhance team productivity and output
- Influence product and engineering decisions by providing ROI-driven perspectives on capabilities and priorities
- Develop deep expertise across multiple platform areas and serve as a technical resource for other engineers
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to shape the development and exposure of data products and tools
- Promote a culture of diversity, inclusion, and continuous learning within the team and organization
