About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join our Cloud Financial Management technology team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering secure, scalable, and innovative technology solutions that support the firm's financial operations. Working within an agile environment, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including vendors and internal stakeholders, to drive technical excellence and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Your expertise will contribute to building reliable systems that enhance operational stability and support JPMorgan Chase’s strategic objectives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead complex projects, influence architectural decisions, and implement AI-assisted engineering practices that improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.

Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts
- Advanced applied experience in software development, system design, and troubleshooting
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java
- Comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Expertise in agile methodologies including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security best practices
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native development and deployment
- Experience utilizing enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools
- Knowledge of responsible AI practices, data security, and secure coding standards
- Experience building and managing data pipelines (ETL/ELT), orchestration, and monitoring
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and troubleshoot innovative software solutions, thinking beyond routine approaches to solve complex technical challenges
- Develop secure, high-quality production code, conduct code reviews, and debug issues effectively
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices within the team to enhance code quality, speed, and operational efficiency
- Establish and promote validation standards such as secure coding, peer reviews, and automated testing across projects
- Leverage SDLC tools and automation capabilities to maximize development efficiency and output value
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring issues, improving system stability and operational resilience
- Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials for integration
- Mentor and coach engineering team members, fostering technical growth and best practices
