About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join our AI & ML Data Platforms team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the development and enhancement of trusted, market-leading technology products within a secure, stable, and scalable environment. You will provide technical guidance, drive innovation through the adoption of leading-edge technologies, and influence product design and operational processes. As a leader within the engineering community, you will foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and continuous improvement. Your expertise will directly impact the organization’s ability to deliver sophisticated AI and machine learning solutions, supporting JPMorgan Chase’s strategic objectives in digital banking and financial services.
Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages emphasizing code quality and maintainability
- Deep knowledge of software applications, technical processes, and disciplines such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile development
- Ability to independently resolve design and functionality challenges
- Experience with cloud-native architectures, scalability, resiliency, and security principles
- Educational background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and automation capabilities
- Understanding of responsible AI practices, including data sensitivity, security, and compliance considerations

Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and strategic direction to support business objectives and technical teams, including contractors and vendors
- Develop, review, and debug secure, high-quality production code, ensuring adherence to best practices
- Drive decision-making related to product design, application functionality, and technical operations
- Serve as a subject matter expert, sharing knowledge and best practices across the engineering community
- Promote the adoption of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices throughout the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influence peers and project stakeholders to utilize emerging technologies and innovative solutions
- Foster an inclusive team culture emphasizing diversity, opportunity, and mutual respect
- Lead the integration of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes
- Implement and uphold validation standards such as secure coding, peer reviews, and automated testing
- Leverage tools within the SDLC toolchain, including AI-driven automation, to enhance development efficiency and effectiveness
