Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Software Engineer at Smile IT Solutions. The Software Engineer will design, build, and maintain back-end services and cloud-native applications on AWS, collaborating closely with developers, architects, and product stakeholders. Typical responsibilities include implementing and testing features, optimizing performance, writing clean and maintainable code, and contributing to application modernization and migration projects. The role also involves troubleshooting production issues, improving reliability, participating in code reviews, and following best practices in security, scalability, and automation. The Software Engineer is expected to document technical solutions, support continuous integration and delivery pipelines, and actively contribute to a collaborative, knowledge-sharing engineering culture.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Computer Science with knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and software design principles.
- Hands-on experience in Software Development and Programming using modern languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, or similar).
- Proficiency in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, microservices, and integration with databases and external services.
- Solid understanding and practical application of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
- Experience working with AWS or other cloud platforms, including deployment, monitoring, and scaling of applications.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and version control systems such as Git.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team environment and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes), infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation), or generative AI solutions is a plus.
