About the team
You’ll be matched to a sub-team under one of the following orgs during recruitment:
- Money as a Service (MaaS): Builds APIs and interfaces enabling monetisation, foreign exchange, payments, and global payouts.
- Payments & Risk: Develops payment processing APIs, regional banking integrations, in-person checkout, and fraud mitigation tools. Includes:
- Optimized Checkout / Stripe Link Teams — Focus on seamless UX for merchants and customers.
- Risk Engineering — Ensures financial resilience while maintaining usability and compliance.

What you’ll do
We’re seeking backend, frontend-leaning fullstack, or fullstack engineers to design, build, and scale software systems that scale globally—as trusted by millions of users, partners, and employees.
Key responsibilities:
- Build core infrastructure: Scale, ship, and maintain APIs, services, and UX platforms handling billions of financial transactions.
- Critical problem-solving: Debug and resolve production issues across stacks and systems.
- Mentor and collaborate: Foster a culture of growth by guiding junior colleagues and aligning with cross-functional stakeholders.
- User-led innovation: Interview teammates and partners to refine and expand features.
- Compute at scale: Deliver new capabilities while improving standards, processes, and internal engineering tools.
- Diversity of tech stacks: Work across services (frontend/backend, public/private)—no rigid specialisation.

Who you are
The ideal candidate meets the minimum requirements but language/background flexibility will be assessed. Preferred qualifications are helpful but not essential.
Minimum requirements
✅ 2-12+ years of software engineering experience (post-graduation). ✅ Strong programming skills (language-flexibility on our side). ✅ Proven collaboration: ability to align with teams, leverage diverse inputs, and empower peers. ✅ Self-sufficiency: excel in autonomous workflows, entrepreneurial problem-solving, and shifting scope. ✅ Generalist mindsets: Comfort across systems, platforms, and technologies to solve for both internal and external use-cases.
Preferred (but not mandatory)
✔ Experience building user-facing applications or UX. ✔ Background in user research, UX design, or interaction modality (e.g., gesture, speech, data modality building). ✔ API design/architecture development.
