Founding Software Engineer – AI Voice Agents – London office based – upto £250k

Ever built something from zero and watched it become the backbone of a company?

Love owning a problem end to end - from customer conversation to shipped code?

Want to work with cutting-edge AI in a business that's actually scaling, not just theorising?

If that sounds like you, keep reading.

The Challenge

This is a Series A startup (fresh off a $13m raise, YC-backed) building AI voice agents for trades businesses - agents that answer calls, handle WhatsApp and email, take bookings, process payments, and run the CRM the way a human would.

Revenue's growing ~30% month on month. They've gone from founders living and breathing AI in San Francisco to a business shipping fast and scaling hard. Now they need a founding engineer to help build the next chapter.

This isn't a "nice to have" hire. You'll shape how the product works, how the team operates, and how the company grows.

What You'll Be Building

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

  • Core product features across the stack - Python, TypeScript, cloud infra, event-driven systems, third-party integrations
  • Solutions owned end to end - working directly with customers to understand needs, scope the build, and deliver outcomes
  • The right thing at the right speed - hacking an MVP when speed wins, investing in scalable foundations when it counts
  • A team that raises its own bar - testing, documentation, reliability, security, done properly and shared with others

Why This Role Is Different

  • Founding-level ownership from day one, not just a seat on the team
  • Real customers, real revenue, real problems - not a lab experiment
  • A business moving fast with the funding to back it
  • Genuine influence over the product and the culture as the team scales

About You

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals - you can design, debug, and ship reliable systems
  • Proficient in Python or TypeScript (or clear proof you can pick up what's needed)
  • Experience shipping AI products end-to-end - startup, side project, open source, or at scale
  • Comfortable across the stack - frontend, backend, infra, wherever the problem is
  • Confident working directly with customers or non-technical stakeholders to scope and deliver
  • A track record that shows drive - something you've launched, contributed to, or taken ownership of when nobody else would

  • Competitive salary & equity
  • AI-focused learning & development

  • Private healthcare
