Overview
Clockwork Dog is looking for a full-time software engineer to accelerate development of its COGS platform. The team builds tools that help producers, creatives and technicians deliver live interactive experiences.
The role spans a number of systems, including the main desktop application, a user-facing backend, Raspberry Pi firmware and custom tools for client projects.
The Role
You will work on a fast-moving, well-tested system, helping add new capabilities and creative possibilities for COGS users. Clockwork Dog is open to people earlier in their career who can show strong engineering skills and a curious engineering mindset.
The team is small, productive and ambitious. Work can be remote, hybrid or office-based, with the engineering team expected to come together at least once a month at the Camden office and occasional client travel.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
