About The Role
We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing Windows-based applications that control new instrument hardware and process the data generated. Your contributions will directly influence the design and functionality of our next-generation testing instruments, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. You will work closely with hardware engineers and other technical teams to shape system architecture, write detailed project documentation, and provide technical support across the business. This position offers an excellent opportunity to be involved in innovative projects, with the flexibility of flexitime working arrangements to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Qualifications
- A degree in a computing-related field such as Computer Science, Robotics, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Proficiency in writing object-oriented code in C++ and/or C#.
- Experience in developing Windows desktop applications, preferably using Visual Studio.
- Familiarity with design patterns such as MVVM and experience building software capable of multitasking on Windows platforms.
- Hands-on experience with version control systems like Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues in systems integrating software with mechanical or electrical components.
- Self-motivated with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Windows applications that interface with new hardware instruments.
- Collaborate with hardware and electrical teams to ensure seamless integration of software and mechanical components.
- Participate in designing system architecture and contribute to technical decision-making processes.
- Write comprehensive project documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
- Support the wider business by providing technical expertise and resolving software-related issues promptly.
- Conduct testing and debugging of applications to ensure reliability and performance standards are met.
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate best practices into software development processes.
