Software Engineer PLC Programmer
Location: Bromborough & Customer Sites
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 + Pension + Benefits
Days Based - Monday to Friday

The Company
My client is one of UK's leading manufacturers of turnkey machinery solutions to a wide variety of fast-moving manufacturing industries. They have over 100 employees on site in Bromborough. With a growing presence, the group has gone from strength to strength over the last decade to become a center of excellence within a variety of food machinery solutions to the manufacturing industry. Due to further expansion within the British market, they have the need to recruit an additional software PLC engineer.
Key Skills
- HNC/HND or Equivalent Electrical Engineer
- PLC Programmer, ideally with Automated Process Machinery
- Understanding of FMCG Industry
The Role
- Develop, test, and commission PLC and HMI software for processing and packaging equipment.
- Establish and manage a remote support system for engineers and customers.
- Provide remote and on-site support diagnosing faults, guiding repairs, and implementing software updates.
- Travel across the UK & Ireland (approx. 40-50%) for commissioning, integration, and technical support.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and project teams on complete automation solutions.
- Maintain software documentation, system standards, and remote access procedures.
- Ensure compliance with electrical and safety standards and contribute to continuous improvement.

Ideally you will be an experienced PLC Programmer/Automation Engineer with strong electrical knowledge. Skilled in Siemens S7/TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Fuji, Lenze.
Background in capital equipment, packaging, or process automation would be advantageous.
