About the role
As a Software Engineer in Product, you will build the user-facing systems that make Boltz Lab intuitive, powerful, and indispensable for scientists designing new medicines. Your primary responsibility will be to design and ship product features that translate advanced machine-learning and molecular modeling capabilities into clear, usable workflows.

You will work closely with product designers, ML researchers, and domain scientists to shape the end-to-end experience, from interactive interfaces and APIs to the underlying application logic that supports exploration, iteration, and decision-making. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and science, with direct impact on how researchers interact with and trust our models.
This role is ideal for someone who cares deeply about usability and clarity, enjoys turning complex technical systems into elegant products, and is motivated by building tools that scientists rely on daily in real drug-discovery workflows.
About you
Essentials:
- Strong experience building and shipping user-facing products in production environments.
- Solid software engineering fundamentals, with an emphasis on clean abstractions, maintainability, and testing.
- Experience developing web applications and APIs using modern frameworks and languages (e.g. TypeScript/JavaScript, React, Python).
- Ability to collaborate closely with designers and product partners to turn user needs into thoughtful technical solutions.
- Experience owning features end-to-end, from initial design through implementation, iteration, and maintenance.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working across engineering, product, and research teams.

Nice to have:
- Experience building tools for technical or scientific users (e.g. developer platforms, data tools, or research software).
- Familiarity with ML-powered products or systems that expose model outputs to users.
- Exposure to computational biology, chemistry, or other scientific domains.
- Experience designing interactive workflows for complex data or model-driven systems.
- Prior experience in an early-stage startup or fast-moving product team.
