Software Engineer / Business Systems (Python AI) London / WFH

to £120k

Are you a technologist Software Engineer with commercial AI experience who enjoys getting close to real business problems, building solutions quickly and taking them into production?

You could be progressing your career at a rapidly scaling renewable energy business at the forefront of the transition to a more flexible, technology enabled energy system. With a growing portfolio of wind and solar assets across the UK, the business is expanding into energy trading and investing heavily in technology, automation and AI.

As a Software Engineer, you'll work across the business, partnering with teams spanning Development, Project Delivery, Investment, Asset Management and Trading. You'll investigate real workflows, understand the underlying data and systems and determine whether AI, conventional software, automation or process change is the right solution.

Collaborating with the AI Lead and domain specialists, you'll take ambiguous problems from discovery through rapid prototyping, testing and evaluation, before taking successful solutions into production. You'll work directly with users, prototype using real data and build production software across Python, APIs, data integration and lightweight frontends, incorporating LLMs, retrieval, tool use and agentic workflows where they add genuine value.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'll own your solutions through deployment and early production operation, including testing, security, permissions, monitoring and resilience. Alongside individual products, you'll help establish the company's first reusable AI engineering capabilities, developing practical patterns for model access, deployment, evaluation, observability, CI/CD and production AI.

This is a high-autonomy role for a highly capable engineer who enjoys ambiguity, moves quickly from idea to PoC and takes genuine ownership of outcomes. You'll work with exceptionally bright people and have the opportunity to shape both the technology and engineering culture as the AI capability grows.
