About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our Physical AI Engineering Team. This team is responsible for developing and scaling the core platform that powers the most advanced engineering simulation and AI workflows globally. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the architectural evolution of our platform as we scale to meet increasing demand from the world’s largest engineering companies. This role is a blend of technical leadership and hands-on development, requiring deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and software engineering best practices.
In this position, you will lead critical architectural initiatives, from designing scalable distributed architecture to implementing agentic-ready systems that enable rapid deployment of AI products and server integrations. You will mentor engineering teams, collaborate with product and business stakeholders, and influence the technical direction of our platform. Your efforts will ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our infrastructure, fostering innovation and operational excellence across the organization.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of physical AI applications, working at the intersection of cloud computing, distributed systems, and AI technology. You will be instrumental in transforming our platform into a more distributed, agentic architecture capable of supporting next-generation AI applications and workflows.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least a staff-level role
- Deep expertise in distributed systems architecture and large-scale backend systems
- Proficiency in Python development with production experience at scale
- Strong Kubernetes experience with deploying and managing production workloads
- Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal, Airflow, or Kubeflow
- Cloud platform expertise, particularly AWS; experience with Azure and GCP is a plus
- Experience with data processing frameworks like Spark, Ray, or Athena
- Solid understanding of API and service interface design for distributed services
- Security-minded development practices, including OAuth, authentication, and authorization
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment strategies
- Excellent technical communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven track record of leading architectural transformations in growing organizations
Responsibilities
- Drive the transition from monolithic to distributed architecture to enhance scalability and flexibility
- Design and implement agentic-ready architecture to facilitate rapid deployment of AI products and integrations
- Make critical technical decisions balancing immediate business needs with long-term architectural goals
- Develop production-quality Python code for core platform components
- Build and optimize distributed compute services to support large-scale workloads
- Implement reliable workflow orchestration patterns to ensure operational efficiency
- Manage CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment strategies for platform stability
- Lead efforts to improve reliability, observability, and site reliability engineering (SRE) practices, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and performance scaling
- Mentor and develop engineers across senior and mid-level roles, elevating technical capabilities
- Establish engineering best practices and architectural patterns to ensure consistency and quality
- Collaborate with product managers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Guide technical decision-making and prioritization across multiple teams
- Participate in the onboarding and interviewing process for new engineering talent
