Software Engineer (Python + Buy-Side)

Location: London (4-5 Days in Office per week)
Salary: Between £80,000 - £150,000 + 50% Bonus + Benefits

This is an excellent opportunity for a Software Engineer to join a leading global investment management firm at the intersection of technology and financial markets. You'll work on high impact applications that support key business functions across the organisation, gaining broad exposure to investment operations while building innovative, scalable software solutions.

The Role

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business critical applications used across a range of operational and investment support functions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building high quality software solutions that support decision making and business processes across the organisation
  • Designing and developing scalable, reliable, and maintainable applications
  • Partnering with stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Taking ownership of the full software development lifecycle, from design through to testing and deployment
  • Collaborating with engineers and business teams to solve complex technical problems

Your Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Strong commercial experience developing production level software in Python
  • Experience with object oriented programming languages such as Java or C#
  • Experience working within financial services, asset management, hedge funds, or a similar environment
  • Understanding of at least one financial asset class

Desirable experience:

  • Exposure to AI assisted coding tools in a production environment
  • Knowledge of Equity or Fixed Income products and markets
  • Experience building enterprise applications that support operational or investment functions
