About The Role
As a Lead Software Engineer within JPMorgan Chase’s Public Cloud Engineering – Infrastructure Platforms team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the firm's technology landscape. You will be part of an agile team responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable, secure, and reliable cloud-native solutions that support the firm's strategic objectives. Your expertise will drive the adoption of innovative engineering practices, including AI-assisted development tools, to enhance code quality, operational efficiency, and system resilience. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and startups to evaluate architectural designs and ensure seamless integration within the firm’s existing infrastructure. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead technical initiatives, promote engineering excellence, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and inclusion.

Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience, particularly within EMEA/LATAM-Brazil regions
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, or Rust
- Experience leading the effective use of enterprise-approved AI-assisted software development tools
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, security, and compliance considerations
- Proficiency across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Deep knowledge of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security best practices
- Practical experience with cloud-native development and deployment
- In-depth understanding of the financial services industry and its IT systems
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and troubleshoot innovative software solutions with a focus on security, scalability, and stability
- Develop high-quality, secure production code and conduct code reviews and debugging activities
- Drive team adoption of enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve development efficiency and quality
- Implement and promote secure coding standards, automated testing, and peer review processes
- Utilize SDLC tools, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to enhance operational efficiencies
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring issues and improve system stability and operational resilience
- Lead evaluations with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials
- Share knowledge and best practices through communities of practice, fostering a culture of engineering excellence and inclusion
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with security and resiliency standards
