🚀 Backend Engineer – AI
📍 London (Onsite)
💰 £90K–£130K + Equity
We’re partnered with a fast-growing AI company building a next-generation video intelligence platform combining computer vision, multimodal AI and real-time data.
They’re growing a small, high-calibre engineering team and looking for a Backend Engineer to take significant ownership over the systems powering the core product.
This is an early-stage environment where you'll work closely with founders and senior engineers, influence architecture and build systems from the ground up.
What You’ll Be Doing 👇
- Build and own scalable backend services and APIs
- Design systems processing real-time video and sensor data
- Ship AI-powered features including multimodal search and agentic workflows
- Build integrations between product, ML pipelines and edge devices
- Solve distributed systems, performance and reliability problems
- Influence architecture and technical direction as the platform scales

What They’re Looking For 🧠
- Strong backend engineering experience with Go, Python or C++
- Experience designing scalable APIs and distributed systems
- Strong systems and software engineering fundamentals
- Comfortable with cloud-native environments
- Startup/scale-up experience or evidence of building things from scratch
- High ownership and strong product instincts
