About the IB

The International Baccalaureate provides world-class educational services to over 6,000 schools across 160 countries. A career with the IB is not just a job; it's an opportunity to work with an innovative world leader in education services where we empower our employees to thrive and make a difference.

About the job

This Software Engineer role sits within the Educator Experience domain, helping ensure IB educators can teach programmes efficiently, feel supported throughout their journey, and continually upskill through high-quality professional learning products and resources. Embedded in a cross-functional product squad, the role develops and improves innovative software solutions, applies consistent engineering practices, and supports reliable delivery across the IB's educator-facing digital ecosystem.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager and working alongside product management, UX, data, and engineering colleagues, you will contribute to stable, scalable platforms and the continued modernisation of educator-facing systems. Your work will help strengthen in-house engineering capability, reduce technical risk, and improve the digital experience for educators and schools worldwide.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute technical delivery across educator-facing systems, improving performance, resilience, and the educator experience.
  • Provide day-to-day technical guidance to product and test engineers, supporting consistent standards and high-quality delivery.
  • Contribute technical expertise across educator content and professional learning applications, considering user journeys, system behaviour, and data.
  • Apply strong engineering practices across code quality, automated testing, security, observability, and operational performance.
  • Constructively challenge engineering approaches to modernise systems, reduce technical debt, and improve delivery outcomes.
  • Contribute to technical roadmaps, identifying sequencing, dependencies, constraints, and cross-domain implications.
  • Support platform consolidation and architectural simplification while escalating significant technical risks and trade-offs.
  • Maintain operational stability while enabling iterative product development and longer-term technical evolution.
  • Build effective relationships with product, UX, data, and business stakeholders to align engineering delivery with educator and school needs.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
