Elekta is recruiting for the role of Software Engineer – Real Time. Join Elekta’s R&D team in Crawley to develop software for next generation radiotherapy systems. The role covers the software lifecycle, from requirements and design through to testing and continuous improvement, supporting safe and precise cancer treatment.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and maintain real-time control software used within Elekta's radiotherapy systems.
  • Design and implement solutions that meet performance, safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with software engineers, systems engineers and architects to deliver new features and enhancements.
  • Contribute to software quality through testing, code reviews and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support technical planning, estimation and delivery of development work.

What they’re looking for

  • Experience developing software for real-time or embedded systems using C/C++.
  • A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience working within an R&D or product development environment.
  • A collaborative approach and passion for developing high-quality software.
  • Experience in medical devices, control systems, Agile development or regulated environments is advantageous.
